Kingfisher

The Kingfisher is one of the most frequent visitors to John's rural Tasman property.  He likes nothing more than enjoying a cup of tea on the deck while watching the Kingfishers swooping down to catch bugs to snack on.  On a calm day you can hear the sound of their beaks snapping shut on their prey.

One of the things John enjoys most about the Kingfisher is it's intense focus as it looks for prey.  John's aim with this piece was to capture that intensity for all to see.  Drawn with coloured pencils upon a dark old door panel, the vivid blues really stand out.

The digital image sits within a white border on the page.  These high quality reproductions are all printed locally within New Zealand, and come with a backing in a protective sleeve.

The artwork in the framed option comes matted within a beautiful rimu stain frame.
